Lindsay Fullerman, Founder and Creator

Lindsay received a degree in Kinesiology (B.S.) from Kent State University’s School of Education, Health and Human Sciences and a minor in Sports Administration.  She is an expert in wellness coaching and habit change and also holds Strength and Conditioning and Sports Nutrition certifications.  While working as a fitness model and strength coach for nearly ten years, she struggled with her own body image, dieting, and living in extremes with food and exercise.  It was only after developing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and understanding her Catholic roots that she began her healing journey towards interior freedom and balanced living.

During her time coaching high school sports and writing the Hathaway Brown School academic wellness curriculum, Lindsay felt called to create Fit from Faith to educate Catholics on healthy and balanced living.  Through her own journey, she realized how to be fit in mind, body, and spirit through the practice of virtue and habit change. Now she is eager to give back and help others do the same. “Ultimately we experience inner freedom and peace when we’re healthy and well.  We can also serve others more joyfully,” she says.

Lindsay is the Director of Athletics at Our Lady of the Elms School in Akron, Ohio, and also serves as the Health and Wellness Adviser at Borromeo Seminary in Wickliffe, Ohio.  She is currently working on her Masters of Arts degree in Theology at St. Mary’s Seminary.

Nathan Burke, FFF Coach

Nathan received a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from The University of Akron. He also has an Associate degree in Arts and a degree in Gerontology from Stark State College.  He is a Personal Trainer, Fitness Instructor, Nutrition Coach,  and Professional Natural Bodybuilder.   Nathan began getting involved in fitness a very young age after being molded into the lifestyle by his father.  His mother also played a role in the nutrition aspect always making sure him and his siblings ate healthy and always had balanced meals while never having much “junk” food in the house.  He developed into the healthy and fitness lifestyle along with his brother and sister.  After playing sports in high school, and being involved in theater and acting, he set his sights on the sport of bodybuilding.  Bodybuilding was his way of combining all his passions into one (theater, sport, science, art) . He competed in his first bodybuilding show at the age of 21 and placed in the top 5 and was hooked ever since.

Nathan was involved with a serious medical crisis in 2012.  After being diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 2008, he was keeping the condition under control until 2012 when his medicine and other remedy’s he was taking stopped working and he had to go to the hospital to be treated.  After not getting better after several weeks,  the doctors told him his best option would be to have his entire large intestine removed.  Without hesitation, Nathan chose that option knowing that it was the only true “cure” for the disease and he would get his life back to full function.   This whole experience led Nathan to deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and his Catholic Faith.  His Faith is what he attributes to him recovering so well.    Nathan ended up making a  full recovery and got back on the bodybuilding stage in 2014.   In June 2017 he won his pro card.   Nathan is passionate about helping others to get stronger in mind, body, and spirit.  He began a deeper understanding of the body and more of what it truly means after studying John Paul II’s Theology of the Body.  He has a passion for getting others to understand how we must treat our bodies and live out of them the best way possible in order to better serve and grow closer to Jesus Christ through our bodies.  And he says if we take care of our temples,  than we are better able to strengthen the soul as well through a healthy and fitness lifestyle.
